The Shimano SPD system remains a reliable and simple system. The SH56 is easier to release than the SH51, so ideal for the novice bike rider. Still, the plates stay firmly attached to the pedals and at the same time they come off smoothly with the right foot movement. Combined with the right shoe, you also have a flat sole that steps easily.
